In teams of 5, students had three hours to connect OTTO pieces and construct a mundane everyday object (a fruit). By defying conventional notions of material, form, proportion or scale, they had to alter the viewer’s expected understanding of an object and give the “familiar” new meanings. Students had to consider the ways in which viewers/ users will occupy and inhabit the space around your object/installation.
